Sage Announces Global Partnership with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers to Educate, Empower and Inspire Bookkeepers Worldwide

Sage Summit – NEW ORLEANS (July 28, 2015)Sage, a leading provider of business management software and services to Small & Medium Businesses, today announces that it is joining forces with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) to empower bookkeepers worldwide to realize their true potential to dramatically influence the business landscape.

Recognizing the value of a global approach to accounting and bookkeeping, Sage, in partnership with ICB, is providing a globalized offering to educate bookkeepers everywhere and provide them with tools to grow and thrive. Bookkeepers will now have the ability to realize their true potential by helping their organizations uncover and seize new business opportunities beyond the traditional confines within which they operate.

"Together with ICB, Sage is reshaping the future of small businesses," said Jennifer Warawa, global vice president of product marketing for accountants at Sage. "Even the smallest companies want the ease of trading effortlessly across borders, and both bookkeepers and accountants will play a pivotal role in these transactions. This truly represents a fresh—and much needed—approach to international trade management."

ICB is the largest bookkeeping institute in the world and recognizes there is a need in the industry to create an agile community of independently certified professionals. While the accounting profession has international standards, and each country has generally accepted accounting principles, the accounting software market can now move toward a standardized direction.

Garry Carter, chief executive of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, believes that the time is now for Small & Medium Businesses to capitalize on new myriad opportunities to grow their businesses globally. "The barriers to global commerce are dropping faster and more dramatically than ever. Combined with continuous advancements in technology, the business landscape is ripe for even the very smallest companies to have international ambitions—more so now than ever before."

Through this new partnership ICB and Sage will work together to provide bookkeepers around the world with the technology solutions and education to support their success. Together Sage and ICB have over 60 years of combined experience serving the bookkeeping profession.
